The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced temporary restrictions concerning the circulation of goods vehicles exceeding 20 tons on Kosovo’s main highways tomorrow, Monday. This measure has been implemented in response to the official temperature forecast, which predicts temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius or higher. The restriction on the highways is scheduled to be active between 11:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
According to the Ministry’s statement, no such circulation limitations will apply to national, regional, or connecting roads, as the specific criteria necessitating such restrictions have not been met in those areas. The Ministry emphasized that it will maintain continuous monitoring of temperature conditions. Furthermore, it stated its commitment to promptly informing both the public and economic operators of any alterations to the implemented measures.
These guidelines are in place to ensure safety and manage traffic flow during periods of high heat. The temporary adjustments aim to mitigate potential risks associated with heavy vehicle transport under extreme heat conditions. The public is advised to monitor official announcements from the Ministry for the latest updates regarding the circulation status across Kosovo’s transportation network.
