Planned march canceled in front of the LDK headquarters

The demonstration planned for 5:00 PM today, scheduled to take place in front of the offices of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has been officially canceled. A statement issued to the media confirmed the cancellation, citing that the decision was made at the request of LDK authorities and was intended to ensure the proper continuation of ongoing processes. The announcement followed earlier mobilization efforts initiated by a Facebook group titled “Connection with the People.” This group had previously called for a protest action to advocate for Lumir Abdixhiku, following the collection of signatures related to his dismissal.

Organizers of the original demonstration had emphasized their demand for the process to unfold democratically, transparently, and in adherence to established legal rights. The official statement simply read: “We inform you that, at the request of LDK authorities and for the proper continuation of the process, we have decided to cancel the demonstration scheduled for today at 5:00 PM in front of the LDK offices.”

The cancellation marks a shift from the planned gathering at the LDK headquarters. While the protest aimed to exert public pressure regarding the status of Mr.

Abdixhiku, the official notification confirms the assembly at the front of the party’s offices has been called off. No further details were provided regarding the specific procedural changes or next steps following the cancellation.
