Samsung Electronics has established a dedicated Robotics Experience (RX) Business Promotion Office, which will be overseen by CEO TM Roh. This new division is designed to consolidate and advance Samsung’s existing research and development efforts within the field of robotics, according to Telegrafi. Lee Dong-geon, who previously managed robotics strategies for Boston Dynamics while employed at Hyundai, has been appointed to lead the Robotics Strategy Team within the division.
The RX division will establish its headquarters at the Samsung Research and Development Campus in Umyeon-dong, Seoul. Furthermore, Samsung plans to expand its international presence by opening research centers in the US, China, and Japan. Initially, Samsung’s focus will be on industrial robotics.
The company intends to deploy advanced robotic technologies for automation across all of its own production facilities. This internal application serves as a primary testing ground before the technology is offered for broader commercial use. The establishment of this centralized division signals a major strategic push by Samsung to integrate advanced automation solutions across its operations and future product lines.
