The house, situated on “A” Street, was marked for demolition as part of necessary roadworks. Despite the presence of inspectors from the Inspectorate and law enforcement officials arriving on site to commence the demolition process, Mr.
Manxhuni remained within the property, refusing to vacate the premises. His resistance centered on his demand for compensation, which he asserted was necessary due to damages he claimed had been incurred. The standoff continued as officials attempted to proceed with the mandated demolition.
Following the owner’s sustained refusal to leave the structure, the Inspectorate personnel, accompanied by the Kosovo Police, ultimately withdrew from the location. Consequently, the scheduled demolition of the house on “A” Street was halted. The incident highlights the conflict between municipal development projects and private property rights within the city.
Authorities were unable to proceed with the planned clearance due to the owner’s physical obstruction and stated grievances regarding compensation for alleged damages. The withdrawal of state agencies marked the conclusion of the day’s efforts to execute the demolition order for the property located along the thoroughfare.
