Facebook Verified is a new free badge that confirms that a real person owns the account.

Meta is introducing a new feature called Facebook Verified, which provides a free digital logo to help users confirm that a profile belongs to an actual individual. To secure this verification logo, users must complete a selfie-based verification process. According to reports, this procedure requires users to record a short video selfie, which Meta will then compare against existing photographs on the user’s profile to confirm a match.

The company indicates that the entire verification process should take only a few minutes to complete. Upon successful verification and receipt of the logo, it will initially be displayed across several key areas within the Facebook platform, including Facebook Marketplace, Dating, and Groups, as well as directly on the user’s main profile. Meta has stated that in future updates, the logo will also become visible on Feed posts.

It is important to note that the presence of the logo does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of the user’s reliability by Facebook; it solely confirms that the profile is associated with a real person. The Facebook Verified service is currently available for users to utilize.
