The acting Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, announced the discovery of an additional mass grave containing human remains in the village of Jabukë, located within the Zubin Potok municipality. According to Sveçla, the unearthed remains are attributed to victims of the conflict that occurred in Kosovo. In a statement posted via Facebook, Sveçla detailed the finding, noting that this new site was situated approximately 10 kilometers from a previously identified mass grave in Kalludër, also in Zubin Potok.
He confirmed that investigative searches and excavation efforts at the Kalludër site remain active. Sveçla stated, “Following the discovery of remains in a mass grave in Kalludër, Zubin Potok, where searches and excavations are still continuing, today, just 10 kilometers further, in the village of Jabukë of this municipality, another mass grave containing the remains of victims of the last war was found.”
The announcement underscores continued efforts to locate and document historical burial sites in the region. Authorities are reportedly continuing their work at the initial site in Kalludër, while simultaneously managing the implications of the new discovery where the remains were recovered in Jabukë.
