Iran has reportedly executed two men accused of engaging in espionage activities benefiting Israel. According to the Mizan news agency, which is connected to the Iranian judicial system, the two individuals were charged with transmitting sensitive information regarding military and security facilities. The agency stated that this alleged data, which included coordinates and photographs, was reportedly transmitted to channels linked to the Israeli secret service, Mossad, during the conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Mizan further reported that the death sentences handed down to the men had received approval from the Supreme Court of Iran. However, the accusations have been met with scrutiny from international observers. The human rights organization “Hengaw” has questioned the basis of the charges brought against the men.
Hengaw emphasized that during the period of the conflict, there were widespread internet outages, and consequently, they noted that no concrete evidence supporting the spying allegations has been presented publicly.
