Ahead of the scheduled session for the constitution of the Kosovo parliament on Friday, Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, extended invitations to the leaders of all political parties that secured representation in the legislature. The purpose of the proposed gathering was to convene a meeting aimed at reaching a consensus regarding the necessary formation of state institutions. However, the Alliance for the Telegraph has publicly stated that it does not deem it appropriate to participate in this consultative meeting.
Ardian Gjini, the leader of the alliance, communicated this stance through a formal letter addressed to Kurti. In the correspondence, Gjini referenced a previous declaration made by the group on February 9, 2026. According to Gjini, the Alliance maintains a clear position regarding its participation in the executive branch.
Specifically, the alliance expressed no interest in joining the Kosovo Government, regardless of the proposed structure. Nevertheless, the group indicated a conditional readiness to contribute to the establishment of essential state institutions and to help avert the necessity of calling new elections. Furthermore, the alliance stated that it would continue to assess the political process as it unfolds.
The differing positions highlight ongoing political negotiations concerning the governance structure following the parliamentary session.
