Juventus has officially confirmed the agreement for the transfer of striker Lois Openda on a loan basis from Olympique Lyon. According to the Italian club’s announcement, the arrangement is structured as a simple loan extending until June 2027, with Lyon receiving €3.5 million in compensation for the move. Notably, the agreement does not contain any purchase option for the Italian side.
This development follows Openda’s initial move to Juventus last summer. At that time, the 26-year-old had joined the club from RB Leipzig on loan for €3.25 million, accompanied by a mandatory purchase obligation set at €42.75 million. However, his tenure in Turin has seen limited on-field minutes.
Over 34 official appearances, Openda registered only two goals and featured as a starter in just nine matches. During the final two months of the season, his playing time was significantly reduced, with him making only one brief appearance off the bench. This period highlighted a noticeable decrease in his involvement with the squad.
The confirmed loan move from Lyon signals a shift in his playing status as the season concludes.
