Citing various statistics, Deputy Stojanovski shared on social media that the airports in Ohrid and Skopje recorded highly successful performances in April, setting new records for Macedonian air traffic. According to the data presented, there was a notable 27.9% increase in passenger traffic, a figure that positioned the country first among non-EU+ states, as reported by ACI Europe.

Furthermore, Skopje International Airport was recognized for its rapid growth, ranking among the fastest-growing airports in Europe with an increase of 28.6%. The ‘St. Apostle Paul’ Airport in Ohrid also reported a record-breaking month, marking its most successful April in history with a documented increase of 41.21%.

The remarks by Stojanovski highlight a significant positive trend in the nation’s travel sector. The figures suggest robust growth in both international tourism and air connectivity, supporting the assertion that Macedonia is solidifying its position as a key regional hub for both visitors and transit traffic.
