Kosovo customs officials intercepted an attempt to import undeclared goods at the Vërmicë Border Crossing Point. During routine inspections of vehicles entering Kosovo, authorities stopped a vehicle registered to a neighboring country. The foreign national traveling in the vehicle stated to officials that they had nothing to declare, neither goods nor currency.
However, the customs notice indicated that the inspection escalated based on risk analysis indicators and suspicions raised during the initial check. Consequently, a customs officer requested a detailed inspection of the vehicle, which was conducted in collaboration with the Kosovo Police. During this comprehensive inspection, hair care products with an estimated value of 4,600 euros were discovered.
Authorities noted that the owner of the goods did not possess any transfer documentation to accompany the merchandise. This incident highlights the ongoing role of customs procedures in monitoring cross-border trade and compliance within Kosovo. The seizure underscores the requirement for proper declaration of all items transported into the country.
