Petrit Hoxhaj, Advisor in the Cabinet of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development in Prizren, has reported a hazardous situation within the Ajazaj të Zhurit neighborhood. According to Mr. Hoxhaj, an incident involving a fallen utility pole has left exposed electric cables across the local street, posing significant risks to the community.
Hoxhaj stated that he had previously alerted authorities regarding the compromised condition of the utility pole several days prior to the incident. He noted that despite his prior reports, no remedial action appeared to have been taken by KEDS. “Several days ago, I raised concerns regarding the dangerous state of an electric pole in the Ajazaj të Zhurit neighborhood.
Regrettably, KEDS failed to address the issue, resulting in the pole collapsing, with its electric cables now lying in the street,” Hoxhaj reported. The presence of the fallen pole and exposed wiring in the thoroughfare creates an immediate danger zone. Mr.
Hoxhaj emphasized that this specific hazard endangers not only pedestrians and residents but also poses a direct threat to vehicular traffic passing through the area. The incident highlights concerns regarding the timely maintenance and inspection of critical urban infrastructure components.
