LDK Deputy Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu publicly urged the Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) to convene the constitutional session today. Speaking from the Parliament courtyard, Lushaku emphasized that it is a duty of the deputies to establish the 11th legislature and ensure the functionality of the country’s institutions within established constitutional timelines. “It is a duty here to make a public invitation to the largest subject of the Parliament of Kosovo to call the session or the continuation of the constitutional session with the aim of the Parliament of Kosovo being constituted today, within constitutional deadlines,” stated Lushaku.
He added that the situation was “truly regrettable” given that the country’s highest legislative body was facing challenges. The call from Lushaku, a member of the LDK, highlighted the urgency regarding the procedural steps needed for the proper functioning of the state. He stressed that the constitutional deadlines must be met to prevent institutional paralysis.
The focus of his appeal was on initiating the necessary parliamentary proceedings to constitutionally establish the new legislative body. Lushaku’s statement underscored the political expectation that the Vetëvendosje Movement take the lead in convening the critical session.
