Peak of the tourist season, high flow in Morina – over 25,000 Kosovo Albanians and 7,000 vehicles enter Albania in just three hours

A significant volume of cross-border movement was recorded on Saturday morning at the Morinë border crossing, reflecting increased traffic during the current tourist season. Data compiled by the Morinë Border Police Station indicated a substantial influx of people and vehicles originating from Kosovo into Albania over a three-hour period. Specifically, between 05:00 and 08:00 on August 8th, border authorities documented the entry of 24,764 Albanian citizens from Kosovo, accompanied by 6,847 vehicles.

This high rate of passage was noted across the border checkpoint. Furthermore, increased circulation was observed along the Rruga e Kombit segment, running from Morinë to the Pagesë Point. The figures underscore the heightened activity associated with the peak tourist period.

In total, the recorded flow showed that over 25,000 Kosovar Albanian citizens and approximately 7,000 vehicles entered Albania within that three-hour window. This sustained movement highlights the cross-border connectivity and the substantial flow of people utilizing the crossing point during this busy travel time.
