According to reports, the object impacted the moon at an estimated speed of 8,700 kilometers per hour.
The debris, estimated to weigh around four tons, possessed dimensions comparable to a bus. This high-velocity impact resulted in the formation of a new crater and scattered significant quantities of lunar dust and rock debris across the immediate vicinity. The photographic evidence of the impact site was captured by the Korean satellite, Danuri, which passed over the area shortly following the collision.
