Police deny Serbian claims: No weapon from Kosovo was used in the fire on Serbian territory

The Kosovo Police have publicly refuted allegations originating from several Serbian media outlets concerning a fire that reportedly occurred in the Bërnjak area on Serbian territory. In a press release issued on Sunday, the Kosovo police labeled these reports as false, characterizing them as disinformation. The police stated that such narratives are intended to falsely portray Kosovo as responsible for negative incidents occurring in the border region.

The official police notice further noted that instances of disinformation and false reporting from Serbia directed against Kosovo have occurred previously. These actions, the police asserted, are employed for specific purposes aimed at making the Republic of Kosovo appear culpable for any negative occurrences, particularly those situated in the border area shared with Kosovo. The Kosovo police explicitly denied the claims made by the Serbian media outlets regarding the cause of the fire.

By issuing this statement, the police sought to counter the narrative presented in the Serbian press. The denial emphasizes the police’s stance that the allegations are politically motivated fabrications rather than factual accounts of events in the border area.
