As of 7:30 AM on August 27, the Crisis Management Center (QMK) reported an update regarding multiple incidents of uncontrolled fires in open areas across North Macedonia. The QMK stated that a total of 31 fires had been registered, with the situation categorized into three statuses: active, under control, or extinguished. According to the latest report, 24 of the registered fires have been successfully extinguished.
Furthermore, three incidents are currently reported as being under control, while four fires remain active. The active incidents are primarily concentrated in low forests and vegetation burning across several municipalities. Specifically, these include areas in Studeniçan and Zelenikovë, Gostivar and Makedonski Brod, as well as the municipalities of Çashkë and Struga Municipality—Frangovë village.
For the incidents currently under control, the QMK identified specific locations, including Tajmishtë village in Kërçova Municipality, a site comprising a depot and remains in Delčevo Municipality, and another site within Brvenica Municipality. The QMK continues to monitor the situation closely, providing detailed updates on the efforts to manage these widespread fires. Authorities are coordinating resources to address the ongoing flare-ups and ensure public safety while managing the cleanup and containment of the affected areas.
