Afërdita Bytyqi has been elected the Deputy President of the Judicial Council of Kosovo following a vote during a meeting of the judicial body. According to the proceedings, Bytyqi received six votes, while her opponent, Artan Abazi, received five votes. The announcement confirmed that Bytyqi, who currently serves as a judge at the Court of Appeals, was elected to the role.
A representative stated that out of the eleven members who voted, the results indicated Bytyqi’s victory. As a result, Afërdita Bytyqi is set to serve as the Deputy President of the Judicial Council of Kosovo. Her term is scheduled to commence on August 27, 2026, and will last for a period of three years.
Following her election, the new Deputy President took an oath. During the ceremony, Bytyqi pledged her commitment to the role, stating her intention to collaborate with all parties and contribute her full capabilities toward the advancement of the justice system.
