Deputies representing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance convened in the Parliament’s plenary hall on Tuesday, advocating for the immediate resumption of the constitutional session for the eleventh legislature. During the session, PDK deputy Enver Hoxhaj directed criticism toward the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), asserting that the group was obstructing the normal functioning of the Parliament and thereby undermining democratic processes within the country. Hoxhaj characterized the current political environment as one facing severe institutional and constitutional challenges.
He emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “We have a persistent state of constitutional violation and the rule of law. There has not been a more difficult situation since 1999.”
Adding to the discourse, Besnik Tahiri, the deputy chairman of the Alliance, also addressed the deadlock. Tahiri criticized both LVV and the LDK for failing to ensure the continuation of the constitutional session, despite what he indicated was a prior agreement among parties.
The meeting highlighted a significant political disagreement regarding the procedural continuity of the legislative body. The combined presence of the PDK and the Alliance underscored a unified demand for parliamentary stability and adherence to constitutional timelines.
