Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that an ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran risks diverting U.S. attention from Ukraine, potentially leaving Kyiv with a critical shortage of Patriot air defense systems. “Ukraine urgently needs more Patriot air defense systems produced in the United States to help it counter Russia’s daily attacks,” Zelenskyy stated.
Russian attacks on urban areas beyond the front lines have resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians. Simultaneously, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy supplies to disrupt the industrial production of domestically developed drones and rockets. Furthermore, civilian access to heating and water has been restricted during the winter months.
Zelenskyy emphasized the urgent need for additional Patriot systems to effectively address the ongoing threats.
