A criminal case has been formally charged against a resident of Veles, suspected of defrauding an individual from Negotina. The Negotina District Public Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against A.S., a 67-year-old man from Veles, alleging the offense of “bribery.”
On February 19th, in Negotinë, the accused, acting at the behest of a 76-year-old Negotina resident, requested 4,000 euros. His stated intention was to demonstrate the currency’s legitimacy to another party.
Following this transaction, A.S. failed to repay the money. Subsequently, authorities located the suspect and took him into custody.
He subsequently confessed to the crime during an interrogation at the police station, and was positively identified by the victim. The investigation revealed that the accused had obtained the 4,000 euros fraudulently. The case is now proceeding through the Public Basic Prosecution in Kavadar.
