Italian Authorities Disrupt Drug Trafficking Network in Naples

Naples, Italy – Italian anti-mafia authorities have conducted a significant operation targeting a criminal network operating in Naples, Italy, which facilitated the distribution of narcotics sourced from Albanian criminal organizations. The operation, conducted between 2020 and 2023, culminated in the execution of 14 arrest warrants and the seizure of substantial quantities of cocaine. Investigations led by the Carabinieri’s Naples Investigative Unit, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples, revealed the network’s role as a key link in a broader trafficking operation.

The group, led by Vincenzo Di Lauro, reportedly amassed considerable profits through its activities. The operation highlights a complex transnational criminal network. Italian authorities have been focusing on disrupting supply chains originating from Albania, targeting criminal organizations involved in the distribution of illicit substances within Italy.

“The Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit have executed a precautionary arrest and house search order issued by the judge of preliminary investigation of the Naples Court,” a statement confirmed. The ongoing investigation underscores the continued efforts to combat organized crime and dismantle criminal networks operating within and connecting to Naples.
