The State Police in Dibër recently uncovered a substantial illegal operation within a forested area of the village Guri i Zi. Authorities discovered a plot suspected of cultivating narcotics, which was found to be containing approximately 300 suspected cannabis plants. According to an official statement, the plants were believed to have been cultivated and stored by an armed individual.
Following the police intervention, authorities apprehended a 43-year-old citizen, identified as L. M., a resident of Tirana, at the scene. During the operation, law enforcement also confiscated a firearm—specifically, a rifle equipped with six cartridges—which is suspected to have been used for guarding the illicit plant materials.
The seizure process involved cataloging the evidence; a portion of the plants was retained as material evidence for investigation, while the remaining quantity was destroyed at the site. Furthermore, the police reported that the materials gathered during the operation have been formally referred to the Prosecutor’s Office. In connection with this case, criminal proceedings have been initiated against a senior official identified as H.
