The Student Parliament of “Nënë Tereza” University has formally submitted a new request to the Ministry of Justice, advocating for the authorization of Albanian students to take professional examinations in the Albanian language. Besar Sejdi, Chairman of the Student Parliament, addressed the ongoing issue, noting that the student body had anticipated a meeting invitation following the recent change in ministerial leadership, but had yet to receive any response. Sejdi highlighted the persistent nature of their advocacy efforts.
“Over the past two and a half years, we have made ten requests and held two protests,” he stated. He emphasized that despite ministerial changes, the core issue remains unresolved. The Parliament reiterated its demand to the Ministry of Justice: the implementation of constitutional and legal provisions that permit Albanian students to sit for the jurisprudence exam in their native language.
This latest submission marks another formal appeal from the university’s student body. The Parliament stressed that the request is not new, but rather a continuation of the demands made over the preceding two years. The central theme of the communication remains the necessity for the Ministry of Justice to act on the students’ right to take professional exams in Albanian.
