Lumir Abdixhiku, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), stated that a recent meeting with Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), failed to yield any agreements, including on the matter of the presidency. Speaking after the meeting, Abdixhiku indicated that the political positions of the two parties remain significantly divergent. He emphasized that achieving an agreement would necessitate a shift in the stances adopted by the respective political parties.
“On other matters, the later we are, the more difficult the delay makes the agreement,” Abdixhiku stated, according to Telegrafi. He added that he had no new information but projected that the parties were “very, very far from any current agreement,” suggesting that this situation would not change without a change in the political parties’ positions. The head of the LDK further reiterated that, from the perspective of his party, maintaining an institutional balance was a key consideration.
His statements following the discussion underscored a lack of immediate consensus between the LDK and the LVV. The exchange highlighted continued political disagreements regarding key institutional roles within Kosovo’s governance structure.
