After winning the parliamentary elections, the Prime Minister meets with Putin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently drew attention following his party’s significant victory in the parliamentary elections. The Prime Minister released a video styled in a hip-hop manner, containing assertive and provocative language, including phrases such as, “He said what he said! […] I don’t care, light up the city with red.”

The reaction from Moscow was notable but restrained.

The Kremlin refrained from offering immediate congratulations to the Armenian Prime Minister regarding the election outcome. Instead, Russian officials referenced “unclear moments” and raised allegations concerning potential violations during the electoral process in Armenia. In contrast, Pashinyan has publicly stated his party’s intention to deepen its connections with European institutions, including the European Parliament.

These developments follow the announcement that Pashinyan’s party secured 49.8 percent of the total votes cast in the recent polls. The focus remains on Armenia’s evolving geopolitical alignments as the new administration solidifies its political mandate.
