Ahmeti: We are ready for early elections

DUI Leader Ahmeti Confirms Readiness for Immediate Elections

Skopje – DUI (Democratic Union for Integration) leader Ali Ahmeti stated his party’s immediate preparedness to participate in elections following a statement from Prime Minister Hristjan Mickoski. Mickoski recently indicated an anticipated timeline for holding elections in North Macedonia. Responding to Mickoski’s declaration, Ahmeti affirmed his longstanding desire for early elections, stating, “I have sought from day one for there to be early elections – this is not a coincidence.” He emphasized that his party would be ready should elections occur tomorrow.

Prime Minister Mickoski has previously expressed reservations regarding the prospect of immediate elections. Looking ahead, a restructuring of the government is anticipated within the coming period. Details regarding specific ministerial changes remain unclear.

During a brief exchange, Ahmeti indicated that internal discussions and organizational work are ongoing within DUI. He declined to provide specifics regarding which ministers might step down or who would be appointed in their place, stating only that the party’s internal structure is still under review. The situation remains fluid as negotiations continue regarding the timing and nature of upcoming elections.

The readiness of key political figures, including Ahmeti, is a central element in the ongoing political discourse.
