Akil Gjakova Secures Repechage Victory at European Judo Championship
Tbilisi, Georgia – Kosovar judoka Akil Gjakova advanced to a position within striking distance of a bronze medal at the European Judo Championship today, following a decisive victory in the repechage phase. Gjakova secured an Ippon against Moldovan competitor Adil Osmanov, propelling him into the final round of contention. The victory occurred in the initial match of the repechage bracket, marking a significant achievement for the athlete.
With this win, Gjakova is now only one additional victory away from potentially earning a bronze European medal. Competing alongside Gjakova were Laura Fazliu and Dardan Cena, however, both judokas were eliminated from the competition early in their respective bouts.
