The Shkodër Health Authority has discovered 7,196 kilograms of contaminated food within its warehouse following a thorough inspection. The verification process revealed that the food products were not stored according to established hygiene and sanitation standards. The inspection team also identified deficiencies in administrative oversight within the warehouse operations.
A total of 100,000 lekë has been allocated to address hygiene and sanitation concerns related to the discovery. This includes 68,000 lekë specifically for the facility under the oversight of Law No. 9863 “Për ushqimin”.
The Anti-Corruption Unit (AKU) conducted a review of the control process, concluding that it was executed with sufficient intensity to ensure the safety of the food products and protect consumer interests. The investigation focused on verifying compliance with relevant regulations regarding food storage and handling.
