Alban Krasniqi Attributes ‘Osmani & Avdyli Case’ to Seat Dispute
Central Election Commission (CEC) member Alban Krasniqi has responded to criticisms leveled by Haxhi Avdyli regarding the Vetëvendosje Movement’s decision not to nominate Vjosa Osmani for President. Avdyli has publicly criticized Vetëvendosje, withdrawing from “GUXO” and accusing Donika Gërvalla of damaging the Kurti-Osmani partnership. Krasniqi argues that the central issue within the “Osmani & Avdyli case” was the contested seat itself, rather than broader considerations for the citizens of the Republic.
He stated that Osmani and Avdyli were primarily focused on securing the seat in question. “Meaning the core of the Osmani & Avdyli case was her seat and not the citizens of the republic,” Krasniqi explained. He questioned the legitimacy of the anti-constitutional decree used to secure the seat, describing it as a potentially reactive measure.
Krasniqi further inquired whether the decree represented a carefully planned strategic action coordinated with the opposition, and whether it garnered support due to this strategic approach. The comments from Krasniqi highlight a key point of contention surrounding the nomination process and the relationship between Vetëvendosje and figures like Haxhi Avdyli and Vjosa Osmani.
