PDK Secretary General Refuses to Engage Following Fatos Geci’s Apology
Vlora Çitaku, the General Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDK), addressed comments regarding the recent statement made by former PDK parliamentarian Fatos geci and his subsequent apology for the language directed towards her. Following the incident, Çitaku stated she declined to engage in conversation with geci. During an interview with Klan television, Çitaku explained her reaction, stating she “did not hear him,” and instead instructed geci to leave the premises.
She emphasized that the situation warranted a stronger response than a simple apology. “To be honest, I refused to listen,” Çitaku said. “I was sitting there, watching him come towards me, but I refused to listen.
I only said to him, ‘ik, leave, I don’t speak with you, leave.’”
Çitaku characterized those involved as “chronic abusers” and asserted that apologies alone are insufficient. She argued that such behavior should not be tolerated. “Chronic abusers, serikë, should not be tolerated and we should not settle for an apology,” she concluded.
The statement reflects Çitaku’s firm stance against unacceptable behavior and underscores the expectation of accountability beyond mere expressions of regret.
