Albanian Ground Forces conduct joint training with the Italian army for operations in mountainous terrain

Elements of the Northern Regiment of the Albanian Land Forces recently conducted joint training exercises with personnel from the Italian “Julia” Brigade’s VII Alpine Regiment. The focus of the joint operation was to enhance tactical capabilities specifically for developing and executing operations within mountainous terrain. The coordination was highlighted by the Chief of Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji.

General Kingji stressed the significance of this cooperation with Italian partners in bolstering the overall operational capacities of the Albanian military. He stated that the joint training was designed to facilitate an exchange of experiences and best practices between the two respective forces. This collaborative effort aims to contribute significantly to the professional development of Albanian units while simultaneously improving established operational procedures.

Furthermore, the exercises are critical for strengthening interoperability between the two armies. The participation of the Italian contingent provided valuable exposure to different military doctrines and techniques. By integrating these international standards and collaborative drills, the Albanian forces are better equipped to handle complex logistical and combat challenges inherent in rugged, mountainous environments, thereby enhancing regional security cooperation.
