Kosovo Parliament Reduces List of Constitutional Court Candidates
Kosovo’s Parliament concluded a third round of secret voting on April 17, 2026, eliminating one candidate from consideration for two vacant positions on the Constitutional Court. Gazeta Express reported that Zahir Qerkini was removed following the third voting phase. The process, initiated by the Parliament, aims to select two members to serve on the court.
This marks the final stage of a multi-round selection process. Currently, three candidates remain in contention for the remaining seats. They are Emine Avdyli Pozhari, Flamur Mrasori, and Jonida Xhafa.
The selection process is being conducted in secret ballots, as reported by Gazeta Express. The Parliament is responsible for appointing these crucial members to the constitutional body. This development follows previous rounds of voting, further narrowing the pool of potential candidates.
The outcome of the fourth round will determine the final composition of the Constitutional Court.
