The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, and the Mayor of Obiliq Municipality, Halil Thaçi, recently inspected the ongoing progress of road construction within the municipality. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Kosovo, the development works are approaching completion. As part of the final stages, asphalt paving commenced today across a 450-meter segment measuring 10 meters in width.
This significant project was executed under a Cooperation Memorandum established between the Ministry and the Obiliq Municipality, carrying a total value of 456,000 euros. The scope of work is comprehensive, encompassing the construction of 1,080 meters of new road infrastructure, alongside dedicated sidewalks and a bicycle path. The primary objective of the entire initiative, according to the Ministry, is to substantially enhance safety and improve circulation conditions for all users—including vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists—within the area.
The recent paving effort marks a critical step toward realizing these improvements across the municipality. The successful completion of this infrastructure project is expected to modernize local transportation networks, enhancing connectivity and usability for the residents of Obiliq.
