The confrontation took place when law enforcement personnel were managing the subject’s removal from the detention center and preparing for the subsequent placement of the individual. The police stated that at that time, the subject actively resisted efforts to move and subsequently attacked the police officer assigned to the duty. Following the assault, the injured officer received immediate medical attention.
