LDK Criticizes Kurti’s Proposal Following Failed Coalition Talks
Hykmete Bajrami, an MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has strongly criticized the latest proposal from the Vetëvendosje Movement following unsuccessful coalition negotiations. In a released statement, Bajrami rejected the recent offer presented by Albin Kurti, characterizing it as an attempt to exert control over state institutions. The proposal outlined conditions for the LDK, including the potential for four ministries and a deputy prime minister position, contingent upon Vetëvendosje maintaining control of the office of the President.
Bajrami deemed this unacceptable. “This is not an offer – it’s pressure,” Bajrami stated. “This was not a solution – it’s another attempt to impose one person’s will over the will of the citizens.
What was offered to the LDK today was not a compromise – it was a sham.”
The LDK’s response highlights ongoing tensions between the two parties as they seek to form a governing coalition in Kosovo. The disagreement centers around the distribution of power and influence within the government. Further negotiations are expected, but the core issues remain unresolved.
