The acting Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, announced the commencement of a significant infrastructure project in partnership with the Municipality of Gjilan. This initiative focuses on the construction and paving of the Ranatoc–Kokaj road. According to the Municipality, the total investment for this development amounts to 569,000 euros, with funding secured through the Council of Ministers Government.
The planned road segment measures 3.26 kilometers in length and will feature a width of 5.5 meters. The scope of work is comprehensive, encompassing not only the paving of the road surface but also the construction of its underlying structure. Specifically, the paving will involve two distinct layers, resulting in a total thickness of 11 centimeters.
Beyond the pavement, the project mandates the construction of essential supporting elements, including a full drainage system, retaining walls, public benches, and stormwater canals. During the announcement, Basha acknowledged the cooperation extended by the Municipality of Gjilan. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to ongoing infrastructure development, noting that the Ministry continues to direct investments across various municipalities throughout Kosovo.
Basha emphasized that such projects are vital for improving connectivity and local services across the region.
