BDI reports that it has been nearly four months since the organization publicly raised concerns regarding the situation at MEPSO and demanded accountability from director Burim Latifi. According to BDI, MEPSO recently lost a case during the pre-arbitral procedure conducted before the DAB. The decision, which favored the preliminary company “Energoinvest,” resulted in a loss estimated at approximately 19.3 million euros.
This unfavorable ruling means the state enterprise must now defend its positions and claims within the formal arbitration process. The matter is set to proceed to arbitration, where MEPSO must address the findings from the preliminary phase. Separately, the company has entered into a new contractual agreement valued at millions of euros.
This contract involves a consortium that is spearheaded by ‘Dalekovod’ and includes participation from ‘Kodar Energomontaža’ based in Belgrade, and ‘Elnos BL’ from Banja Luka. While these business developments are occurring, BDI continues to monitor the legal proceedings, particularly regarding the accountability issues raised concerning MEPSO’s management. The details surrounding the new contract and the specific accusations leveled against certain parties in relation to connected circuits remain points of focus for BDI.
