Belgrade officially defends Radoiškić, Petković calls the organizer of the terrorist attack in Banjska a “patriot”

Petar Petkoviq, the director of the Office for Kosovo within the Serbian Government, issued a public statement defending Milan Radoičić. Kosovo authorities have publicly identified Radoičić as the primary organizer of the terrorist attack that occurred in Banjska on September 24, 2023. In his response on the social media platform “X,” Petkoviq addressed criticisms leveled by members of the Serbian opposition.

Regarding the accusation that Radoičić was responsible for the violence against Serbs, Petkoviq dismissed the claims as “low and shameful,” placing full blame for the incident on the current Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. Furthermore, Petkoviq criticized the Serbian opposition politician, Miroslav Aleksić, for questioning Radoičić. Petkoviq stated that “a Serbian patriot does not expel his own people, but fights for them with heart and soul.”

This defense comes amid continued political support from Belgrade concerning the events in Kosovo.

The statement highlights a significant divergence in narratives regarding the September 24 incident. While Kosovo authorities maintain that Radoičić was the main organizer of the terrorist attack, Petkoviq’s defense strongly counters these assertions, framing Radoičić’s actions as patriotic resistance rather than criminal activity. The exchange underscores the deep political division over the circumstances surrounding the attack.
