Manchester United manager Michael Carrick confirmed on Wednesday that no decision has been made concerning the future of striker Marcus Rashford ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 season. The 28-year-old is currently on a one-year loan agreement with Barcelona, following a period out of the starting eleven at Old Trafford. The loan spell, which commenced in August 2026, is set to conclude on June 15th, at which point Barcelona will have the option to trigger a purchase agreement valued at €30 million (approximately £26.1 million).
However, Manchester United officials have indicated they are unwilling to renegotiate the existing terms of the deal. Carrick addressed the situation, stating that no decision regarding Rashford’s long-term prospects has been finalized. Rashford is anticipated to be a member of Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
