The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, alongside Deputy Mayors Florian Dushi and Besiana Musmurati, has called for a comprehensive and impartial investigation concerning a specific contract executed with the Public Housing Enterprise (NPB) in 2021. The Mayor’s Office highlighted several concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding the agreement. Specifically, they noted that the company involved in the contract was established merely one week prior to the announcement of the public bidding process.
The municipal leadership emphasized that the current administration neither initiated, negotiated, nor signed the disputed contract. According to official records reviewed by the Mayor’s Office, the documentation contains the specific dates, signatures, and names of the officials responsible for the decisions made back in 2021. Furthermore, Rama indicated that NPB faces potential financial liability, with the entity at risk of being charged over 32 million euros for “lost profit” stemming from the failure to realize the project as planned.
In response to these claims, the Mayor’s Office has formally requested detailed clarification regarding the precise action or failure by NPB that forms the basis of the claimed financial penalties. The focus remains on establishing accountability for the original agreement and its subsequent status.
