Costa today in Albania, tomorrow in Kosovo

António Costa, the President of the European Council, has commenced a series of official visits across the nations of the Western Balkans. Following his recent engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa began his itinerary today with a planned visit to Tirana. The schedule remains intensive throughout the week.

On June 2, Costa is scheduled to remain in Tirana, where he will meet with key local figures, including Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Bajram Begaj. Furthermore, he will engage with students attending the European College Campus. His itinerary for the second day also includes a trip to Skopje for a meeting with Prime Minister Christian Mickoski.

The momentum continues into the following day. On Wednesday, June 3, the focus shifts to Pristina, where the European Council President is set to meet with the acting president, Albulena Haxhiu, and the outgoing Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. These meetings will also include leaders representing opposition parties.

The tour is slated to continue on June 4, extending its diplomatic reach across the region. This series of high-level visits underscores continued engagement with the political developments and institutional structures within the Western Balkan states.
