Albin Kurti, the leader of Vetëvendosje, has reiterated calls for Kosovo’s parliamentary political parties to establish a comprehensive political agreement regarding the constitution of the nation’s institutions. Kurti indicated that he is currently engaged in discussions with the Democratic League of Kosovo. He asserted that the most viable path to circumvent an election is through such a political accord.
“We are in communication and we will try every day to reach a political agreement, in order to avoid unnecessary and unfeasible elections, because they only repeat themselves. I call once again to the leaders of the other parties to discuss and listen, because the citizens do not want elections, but a solution, and the solution is a political agreement,” Kurti stated on Monday, according to KosovaPress. These remarks follow the suspension of the constitutional session on Saturday.
Kurti’s emphasis centers on achieving a political consensus among the various parties. He stressed that the public desire is not for further electoral cycles, but rather for a definitive resolution. Consequently, he urged the leaders of other political factions to engage in dialogue and consider a mutually acceptable agreement to avoid the need for elections.
