Criminal charges are filed against the former director of NP “National Forests” in Macedonia

The Ministry of Interior has announced that formal criminal proceedings have been initiated against the former director of NP “National Forests.” The allegations center on the charge of “abuse of position and official authority.”

According to initial reports from the MPB, the individual facing these proceedings is identified as Valentin Gruevskin. Zdravko Trajanov currently occupies the leadership role at the institution. Specifically, the Foreign Office for Criminal Matters Delčevo, operating under the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Delčevo, filed the charges against V.G., a 52-year-old man from Manastir.

The basis for the criminal action is the suspicion that he committed the act of abusing his official capacity and authority. The allegations state that the former director allegedly misused his official standing by linking and signing eight specific contracts related to the purchase of goods or services through the National Forests organization. The initiation of these charges signifies a formal investigation into the management and execution of these contracts.

The proceedings mark a significant development regarding the oversight of national forest resources. The focus of the investigation remains on whether the documented actions taken by the former director deviated from established protocols, thereby constituting an abuse of his delegated authority. The Ministry’s action underscores the commitment to accountability within public administrative roles.
