Daniela Dimovska was officially sworn in as the President of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje before the Judicial Council. During her address, Dimovska outlined her key objectives for her tenure, which include sustaining the court’s operational efficiency, addressing the backlog of old cases, and enhancing overall transparency. Speaking to “Telma,” Dimovska highlighted the progress made by the court over the past 14 months.
She noted that significant efforts had been directed toward reducing the volume of unresolved, old cases. “With this oath, I can promise that we will continue with the same rhythm and dynamism,” she stated. She further emphasized that the court had successfully managed to decrease the number of new filings while maintaining its effectiveness relative to other institutions in the country.
According to Dimovska, the court had achieved a substantial reduction in the accumulation of old cases, reporting a 53 percent decrease in cases that were at risk of being shelved. This accomplishment, she stated, was achieved within the current year. Her commitment signals a continued focus on procedural improvements and ensuring the timely resolution of pending matters within the Skopje court.
