According to the Kosovo Police, the remains were found on April 23, 2026. The recovered remains were preliminarily identified as belonging to H.S., an adult male.
Authorities confirmed that H.S. had been reported missing on April 5, 2025. Police issued a statement confirming that continuous search operations were conducted following the initial report of the individual being missing.
Following the recovery, the remains were transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for official examination. Subsequent analysis confirmed the identity of the deceased. The police confirmed that after the identification process was completed, the remains were formally handed over to the family members.
