Dimitrievska-Koçoska: Budget reallocations will be reviewed in a government session tomorrow

A review of the national budget rebalancing is scheduled for a session of the government tomorrow. During this session, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Koçoska confirmed that adjustments are anticipated for the budget deficit, specifically noting an expected upward correction. The primary driver for this adjustment, according to the Minister, stems from increased financial requirements necessary to fund crucial capital investments across various sectors.

In addition to the expenditure side, the budget will also undergo corrections concerning revenue streams. These adjustments relate specifically to excise taxes levied on fuels, which have been modified in response to ongoing economic challenges. When questioned regarding the precise financial impact of these measures—such as the reduction of VAT and excise taxes on fuels—the Minister provided an estimate, stating that the excise tax component requires a correction of approximately 1.5 billion denars.

However, she cautioned that providing exact figures at this time remains challenging due to the complexity of the current financial situation. Despite the difficulty in providing precise calculations, the Minister reiterated the expected outcome: the budget deficit will see a confirmed upward correction for the current fiscal period. The comprehensive review by the government body is expected to provide a clearer picture of the necessary fiscal adjustments moving forward, addressing both investment needs and changes in taxation policy.
