Mihaela Dotsova, the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, stated that adherence to the 2022 European consensus is a prerequisite for North Macedonia to advance its european integration efforts. Speaking following a meeting with her counterpart from North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, during the 13th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process, Dotsova emphasized that the required changes are non-negotiable. Dotsova asserted that for North Macedonia to maintain its current trajectory toward european membership, specific constitutional amendments must be implemented.
She stressed that the adoption of the 2022 European consensus is not open to further renegotiation. Beyond the structural requirements for integration, Dotsova also voiced concerns regarding the stability of diplomatic relations. She addressed the issue of recent anti-Bulgarian demonstrations and the incidents involving the burning of diplomatic vehicles belonging to the Bulgarian mission.
