The Gjilan police were notified late yesterday evening regarding a vehicle detonation that occurred in the city. According to Ismet Hashani, a spokesperson for the Gjilan regional police, the department received a tip via telephone around 9:45 PM concerning an incident on “Lufta e Gjilani 44” street. Initial investigations conducted by the police suggest that a vehicle was damaged by an explosive device.
Hashani confirmed that there were two individuals inside the vehicle: the driver and a passenger. He reported that the driver sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. In contrast, the passenger was reported to have sustained only minor injuries.
The police are currently managing the scene and investigating the precise cause of the blast. Hashani stated that the police response team was on site to manage the aftermath of the incident.
