Driver who hit worker with car on Ohër-Kërçovë highway stopped

The Ministry of Interior has announced that the driver involved in a recent accident on a construction site has been banned. The incident occurred on June 15, 2026, at 07:55, on the under-construction highway linking Ohër and Kërçovë. The collision took place near the village of Orovnik, within the Debarca municipality of Kosovo.

According to reports from the Ohër Police Department, a passenger vehicle, identified as a Mercedes model bearing Strugë license plates, reportedly lost control. This vehicle subsequently collided first with a bus, and then struck a Chinese national, aged 46. This individual, who resides in the village of Izvor, was working on the highway at the time of the accident.

The consequences of the crash were severe. The Chinese national sustained significant physical injuries. Furthermore, the driver of the passenger vehicle also suffered physical injuries, which were subsequently treated at the “Shën Erazmo” Special Hospital.

The Ministry confirmed that the driver, who was responsible for the vehicle involved, has been officially banned. The details provided indicate that the investigation is ongoing, focusing on the sequence of events that led to the multi-vehicle accident. The authorities are managing the aftermath of the incident, ensuring the injured parties receive necessary medical attention following the collision.
